What is a VEG file
VEG files refer to the project files for video editing using Sony Vegas. It allows users to view and edit timelines (with both audio and video), transitions, special effects, and project media references. Much like other video editing software, project files can only be used within the editing software and exportation of files is required for use on CD, DVD, or any other digital video formats. File exportation is possible through the editing software but it can also be done using file converting or other programs like Vegas+DVD software. VEG files can be edited using Sony Vegas to produce video/audio projects such as full films, home movies, videos for the internet, and more.
Sony Vegas allows real-time multitrack video and audio editing, independent video sequence, 24*bit/192 kHz audio support, DirectX and VST plug-in support, and Dolby Digital Surround sound mixing. Sony Vegas Pro can run on Windows XP through 7 through Sony Vegas version 10, Version 11 ceased XP support and Version 12 only allows support for Windows versions supporting 64-bit. Other related programs include the Sony Vegas Movie Studio, which works at a much lower professionalism, useful for amateurs and hobbyists. Completed and exported videos can be sent to various devices including Sony’s PSP or Apple’s iPod.
Here's a small, but not exhaustive list of programs that can open VEG documents:
- Sony Vegas Pro
- Sony Vegas Movie Studio
- Sony Foundry
