What is a SLN file
Developed by Microsoft, the SLN file format is associated with their Visual Studio IDE (Integrated Developer Environment). These structure files are used to organize different projects created in Visual Studio and is used to run or load solutions as well as projects and information attached to the solution or project.
Upon opening the SLN file, different kinds of information are read from the file. They are saved in a text format and contain information about the project as well as preSolution and postSolution. The SLN file can be compared to the VBG file that is used by Microsoft Visual Basic.
Here's a small, but not exhaustive list of programs that can open SLN documents:
- Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 (Windows)
- MonoDevelop (Windows & Mac)
- VSoft Technologies FinalBuilder (Windows)
