What is a PSPIMAGE file
PSPIMAGE files are created when saving a drawing, graphic or other kind of picture using Corel PaintShop Pro. This file type, even though saving as more common image files like JPG is possible with newer versions of the program, the PSPIMAGE file is the native file format of this image editing software. Before the introduction of the PSPIMAGE format, PaintShop Pro saved image data in the PSP format.
The data contained in the PSPIMAGE file can contain raster as well as vector graphics. Similar to the Adobe Photoshop PSD file, PSPIMAGE files can save information in different layers. They support transparency, filters as well as several image effects. Due to the layer function, PSPIMAGE files are very versatile for storing work in progress images that can be further edited or changed.
Here's a small, but not exhaustive list of programs that can open PSPIMAGE documents:
- ACD Systems Canvas (Windows)
- Corel Painter (Windows & Mac)
- Corel PaintShop Pro (Windows)
- Corel VideoStudio Pro (Windows)
- CorelDRAW Graphics Suite (Windows)
- XnViewMP (Windows, Mac & Linux)
