What is a MUI file
MUI files are associated with Myriad software such as the Harmony Assistant. The MUI files are known as “User Instrument” files as they store information about instruments used and added to larger projects by the users of Myriad Harmony Assistant. These instruments can include piano, strings, brass, and woodwinds sounds. These files contain a recording of the actual instrument, note by note, and can thus create a realistic sound that resembles the instrument in question.
When using Myriad Harmony Assistant, users are given a predetermined set of instruments they can use to create music. With the help of an MUI file, users can add other instruments next to the ones already given by the program. In order to do so, a default instrument can be edited and saved as a new, predefined instrument. In addition, users can also define the note range, decay, volume and loop release, and other parameters.
